I am a Boston kid, a former teacher, a dad to a Lego-obsessed little boy named Oliver, and a massive Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel nerd. I believe deeply that all people deserve to feel seen, and that an authentic human connection is one of the most generous things you can give someone.

My parents came to this country as Vietnamese refugees. That history lives in me. It is a big part of why I volunteer my camera for people who rarely get to be the subject of a beautiful photo: unhoused individuals, recent immigrant families, people in between jobs and in between chapters. A great portrait gives them dignity. That is the work I am most proud of.

In my studio, my wife says I tell a lot of bad jokes, which are hilarious to me and if you read my reviews hilarious to hundreds of others, too (she insists on apologizing in advance for us). At events, I use cutting-edge real-time technology to put burst-out-laughing group photos in attendees' hands right after the click. Either way, people tend to leave surprised by how much fun they had.

I also founded Lightwell, a free mentorship community for Boston-area creatives. After years of trial and error building a sustainable creative business, I do not want other creative business owners to feel like they are going at it alone. My goal is to build a community of hope and possibility, one conversation, one connection, one open door at a time.
